Volcano Seafood is a innovative company from Westman Islands (Iceland) that was founded after the annual innovation competition at the University of Reykjavik. The idea was to create a premium seafood snack made from sustainable caught white fish and produced with green energy”
It is best to say that the idea won the competition and was the first team in the University history to receive two awards. Sjávarútvegsverðlaun and also the main prize that is referred to Guðfinna Bjarnadóttir, entrepreneur and former Rector of the University of Reykjavik.
For winning Guðfinnuverðlaunin (the main prize), Volcano Seafood got to participate in the World Championships in Innovation for Universities called the Venture Cup, which takes place in Copenhagen every year. In the Venture Cup competition the company received an award for The Best Brand.
Since then, we have been developing the product and the manufacturing process with that in mind to create a first-class product that you can enjoy in all occasions. A product that is healthy, tasty and environmentally friendly. Now the company has launched its first products on the market, and now it is available all over Iceland.
